Scholarships

Science and Engineering Council | Santa Barbara

The Science and Engineering Council of Santa Barbara (SEC) provides scholarships to students from the Santa Barbara area who intend to major in science, physics, chemistry, engineering, or mathematics and are in need of financial aid for college. These scholarships can amount to 15-20% of the yearly expenses for the students, depending on the scholarship amounts and the needs of the selected students — a significant amount for young scientists who otherwise could not afford the fees and tuition.

The SEC assigns its scholarship donations to the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, a non-profit organization helping needy and deserving students for over 40 years. The Scholarship Foundation selects the students for the SEC by reviewing comprehensive applications, references, and test scores, and by interviewing applicants and determining financial needs.

Your generous donations allow us to support these students. You can make a real difference by supporting local students pursuing educations in the sciences and engineering at the college level. Please indicate “Science & Engineering Council” as the scholarship fund to attribute your gift to.
