Artificial intelligence (AI) is penetrating every aspect of our lives. Healthcare will not be an exception. This new technology is expected to stretch our boundaries of knowledge of diseases and may also help us detect diseases early or monitor disease progression. Today, as we face this transition from conventional approaches to disease diagnosis and management to the use of novel technology, many fundamental questions arise about the accuracy and effectiveness of these solutions. This talk will review the possibilities, challenges, and scope of AI-powered technologies in healthcare.

Dr. Prajakta Kulkarni, SciKare CEO
 
Dr. Kulkarni earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and worked as a postdoctoral scholar at UCSB to develop technologies requiring multidisciplinary skills. For the last six years, she has been the CEO of SciKare, a startup developing technologies to transform kidney health management in at-risk populations. Over the years, she has received many awards for her research and contributions to developing innovative technologies. She is also a recipient of the Pacific Coast Business Times’ 40 under 40 award for 2023.
